While global markets faced fluctuations in 2022, CDF and its subsidiaries managed to strengthen business resilience and profitability through balanced and prudent strategies. China Life reported a net income of NT$13.16 billion in 2022 as it continued to manage its investment portfolio while focusing on high-value products, which resulted in an increase of 38% in the value of new business (VNB) margin. KGI Bank’s net income for the year of 2022 was NT$6.02 billion, a 45% increase when compared to the previous year. The bank maintained a net interest margin (NIM) of 1.39% as its SME lending and personal loan businesses grew 22% and 20% respectively YoY in 2022. KGI Securities’ net income for 2022 was NT$3.62 billion, maintaining the leading position in ECM & DCM. In addition, KGI Securities has ranked No. 1 for ten consecutive years as a result of several leading deals in IPO & SPO. CDIB Capital Group reported a net loss of NT$0.32billion in 2022 due to unrealized valuation impact. CDIB Capital Group will continue to focus on asset management as well as green investment and sustainable finance activities.

In addition to pursuing financial growth, CDF also continued to focus on its ABCDE strategy. In 2022 the company has launched the Employee Trust Shareholding Plan, and has been selected to the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) as well as DJSI World and DJSI Emerging Markets index for three consecutive years. CDF and its three subsidiaries, China Life, KGI Bank and KGI Securities, have completed the implementation of Net Promoter Score across multiple channels including branches, website and mobile platforms, which enabled the companies to track and listen to customer feedback and therefore optimize processes and enhance service quality and customer experience. 2022 Net Promoter Scores received from an external third party research company for KGI Bank and China Life were the highest scores in their respective industries.

Looking forward, CDF states that in the face of the current economic situation CDF will continue to enhance risk control mechanism to mitigate operational risks and focus on core strategies to maintain long-term stable business development.
