China Development Foundation is entering its 17th year supporting to launch "Heritage 100 x Tutoring 100" Scholarship Program. This year, the program will commit NT$5 million in scholarship support for college students in Taiwan who will volunteer to tutor financially disadvantaged schoolchildren. Submission for the program has now started and the deadline for registration is at the end of May.

China Development Foundation "Heritage 100 x Tutoring 100" Scholarship Program has been long providing financial aid to college students and encouraging them to tutor and accompany primary school students in need. The program, which was launched 16 year ago and had 1,600 people who joined as tutoring volunteers over the years, has granted a total of NT$80 million since its conception.

Luo Zuyou, a graduate student at Sun Yat-sen University, joined the program in 2019 and has served as a tutor volunteer for four consecutive years. Mr. Lu, a teacher from the counseling room, said that Luo Zuyou began to accompany a primary school boy and help improve his academics four years ago. In addition, Luo Zuyou spent time listening to the boy's needs. The little boy is about to graduate from primary school now, and has made significant changes and improvements since he started working with Luo Zuyou. Luo Zuyou said, "As a volunteer of the program, in addition to receiving scholarships, I am even happier that I can use my strength to help disadvantaged students."

China Development Foundation adheres to the belief that "education is the most valuable investment", and hopes that college students who are interested in giving back to society will join the ranks of volunteers to support disadvantaged students, and work together to accomplish these meaningful missions.
