China Development Financial (hereinafter referred to as “CDF”) has been selected as part of the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) for two consecutive years. It has also been included in the 2021 DJSI World and DJSI Emerging Markets index, where out of the 21 categories it has earned the best score in 7 categories. Also CDF was listed number one globally for the environmental category. Moreover, CDF ranked eighth globally in the insurance industry category and second in Taiwan. After the World Earth Day in April this year, CDF became the first financial holding company in Taiwan to make a commitment for net zero carbon emissions for its total portfolio by 2045. Furthermore, CDF has been recognized internationally for its sustainable finance, financial tolerance and other related core financial competencies.
CDF has also received many local accolades; it has won the “2021 Taiwan Corporate Sustainability Awards (TCSA)”, winning a total of 4 awards, including “Taiwan Top 50 Sustainable Corporation Award” in the Comprehensive Performance Category, the “Climate Leadership Award” in the “Individual Sustainability Performance” awards, the “2021 Taiwan Sustainability Action -- Social Participation” award, and the platinum award for the “Corporate Sustainability Report Category”
Winning the “Climate Leadership Award” at the TCSA Individual Sustainability Performance” is a truest testament of performance towards a specific individual sustainability issue and the benchmarks actions and solidifies CDFs leadership status.
CDF leverages the trend in social innovation, establishing a sustainable local development ecosystem by creating a collaboration model among corporation, social enterprise, and local revitalization team. This innovative model applied to CDF’s cooperation with Happy Food and Awakening Heart Base Corporation won CDF the “2021 Taiwan Sustainability Action Awards -- for Social Participation”.
