Press Release

China Development Financial (CDF) teamed up with KGI Charity Foundation to launch the “2020 Shoebox of Love” campaign, joined by other group members to spread warmth to schoolchildren of six schools in rural Yunlin, Chiayi, and Pintung County. Mr. Chia-juch Chang, chairman of CDF, was the first to respond to the call, encouraging all CDF group members to join the cause.

CDF group employees, from entry-level employees to C-suite executives, all joined the campaign, including Mr. Steve Bertamini, president and CEO of CDF. “CDF has been committed to upholding the core values of ESG (environment, social and governance). The campaign is an example of how CDF demonstrates group synergy and leverages resources in its coordinated ESG efforts,” said Mr. Bertamini.

Mr. Chin-lung Tseng, CEO of KGI Charity Foundation pointed out that KGI Securities has participated in the Christmas shoeboxes campaign four years in a row, collecting more than 500 shoeboxes full of gifts distributed to more than 2,000 students in rural areas. In addition to gift collection, some employees also volunteered to deliver the gifts to the students in person.

CDF believe that education is the most valuable investment for the society. It has long supported equal opportunities and access to education by leveraging the resources of CDF Foundation and KGI Charity Foundation to narrow the gap between urban and rural areas. We hope to achieve the SDGs mandates (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals), including poverty eradication, zero hunger, good health and well-being, quality education, decent work and economic growth, reduced inequalities, peace, justice, and strong institutions, and partnerships for the goals.
