China Development Financial (hereinafter CDF, TWSE: 2883) reported preliminary June net profit of NT$986mn, bringing January-June earnings to NT$3.036bn, for EPS of NT$0.21. “Despite a lack of compelling signs of a global containment of the COVID-19 outbreak, capital markets extended the vigorous trading momentum on the back of monetary easing along with fiscal stimulus programs that support securities business and valuations of financial investments,” said Mr. Richard Chang, Spokesperson and Senior Vice President of CDF Group.

KGI Bank saw stable growth in deposits and loans. In addition to core earnings contribution of interest and fee income, the solid financial markets favor valuation gains of the Bank’s financial assets. KGI Securities posted June net profit of NT$819mn, with January-June net profit of NT$2.406bn, driven by sustained brokerage earnings momentum on rising TAIEX turnover and valuation, along with bond and equity investment gains.

CDIB Capital Group delivered June net loss of NT$314mn on changes in valuations of its international investment portfolio, taking January-June net loss to NT$1.462bn.
