CDF ESG Green Impact Forum - creating a sustainable new future

During his speech, Steve Bertamini, the President and CEO of CDF, emphasized that CDF is committed to promoting the development of green finance and actively participating in green investment and financing to contribute to achieving sustainable development. Net-zero sustainability has become an important factor for companies to enhance their competitiveness. CDF continues to implement its ABCDE strategies and has consolidated the forces of China Life Insurance, KGI Bank, KGI Securities, venture capital/private equity, and asset management to assist clients in achieving their sustainable transformation goals.

Today, CDF hosted the "ESG Green Impact Forum" with the theme of "Winning the Global Sustainability Battle - Enterprise Transformation and Innovation." The forum discussed how companies can practice green transformation and create sustainable business models to build world-class competitiveness amidst climate change risks. 

CDF held the "ESG Green Impact Forum" and has invited Cheng Wen-tsan ,Vice Premier of the Executive Yuan, to deliver a speech. The forum aims to share insights on how to anticipate the future, accelerate the transition to net-zero, and create a more resilient and sustainable environment. Speakers at the event include Chen Kuei-kuang, Chairman of Sunny Rich Group, Sam Lin, Executive Vice President of KPMG, Daniel Chang, CEO of Delta Energy Inc., and Ann Chang, President of KGI Site. 

Cheng Wen-tsan stated that ESG and net zero transformation have become a global consensus and a project that transcends national borders, industries, and generations. Net zero carbon reduction presents both a challenge and an opportunity, which will drive the country towards sustainable development and industries towards innovative growth, further developing the vast green energy industry. Through green finance, it will promote investment and industrial innovation, driving a sustainable cycle of investment and financing, while also diversifying the development of green products in the future.

To actively leverage its financial influence, CDF has utilized the "IMPACT - Impact Strategy," which involves green investment (I), risk management (M), green financial products (P), cross-industry alliances for sustainability (A), sustainability-related fundraising consultancy (C), and green transformation (T). These aspects work together with subsidiaries to promote green finance. By 2022, CDF has invested NT$123.1 billion in the six core strategic industries, with nearly 60% of the investments being in green power and renewable energy. 

Steve further pointed out that CDF has been involved in the significant development of Taiwan's energy industry for a long time. In recent years, it has participated in multiple large-scale green project financing, supporting customers' forward-looking investments in the energy industry, and promoting Taiwan's energy transformation. In the future, CDF will continue to be a driving force for the industry's green transformation, supporting infrastructure development, and assisting businesses in achieving their sustainability goals.
