Company History
China Development Financial (CDF) was established in 2001. Major subsidiaries include China Life, KGI Bank, KGI Securities, CDIB Capital Group and KGI Site.
2023
In July 2023, KGI SITE became a wholly-owned subsidiary of CDF.
We will continue to provide diverse services through our five major subsidiaries in life insurance, banking, securities, investment trust, and private equity/asset management, aiming to become a leading financial company in Asia.

In October 2021, CDF completed the move to its new headquarters.
CDF announced the opening of its new headquarters at No. 135, Dunhua North Road, Taipei City. This coincides with the 20th anniversary of the holding company.

In October 2021, CDF approves the acquisition of all remaining China Life stock.
CDF convened an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting today and approved the acquisition of China Life as a wholly-owned CDF subsidiary through a share swap method.

In April 2021, CDF commits net zero carbon emissions by 2045
In year where global companies have made formal commitments towards implementing more sustainable practices, China Development Financial has announced net zero carbon emissions by 2045. This will make CDF the first financial holding company in Taiwan to make this commitment.

In September 2017, China Life became an integral part of the group.
Publicly acquired a 25% stake in China Life to become its single largest shareholder.

CDIB transformed into CDIB Capital Group in March 2017.
Continuing the core of Industrial Bank, CDIB Capital Group is committed to private equity investment funds and actively expand asset management business.

In January 2015, Cosmos Bank was reflagged as KGI Bank
By way of business transfer, CDIB transferred its corporate banking and other financial businesses to KGI Bank in May 2015.

In June 2013, KGI Securities merged with Grand Cathay Securities, another subsidiary within CDF.
After the business integration of its two major securities companies, it has become the leader of domestic investment banks, bonds and new financial products.

2001
CDF was formally incorporated in December 2001.
In June, China Development Financial (CDF) was established by share conversion. Following regulatory approval CDF was formally incorporated and launched its IPO on the Taiwan Stock Exchange on 28 December.

1999
China Development Corporation was restructured as an industrial bank.
Renowned for direct investiment service, China Development Industrial Bank had continued its way to support local industries.

1959
China Development Corporation was established.
The first private development financial institution in Taiwan was established through the collective efforts of the Economic Stabilization Committee of the Executive Yuan, the World Bank, and private capital as Taiwan’s first privately run financial institution focusing on direct investments.
