Press Release

China Development Financial (CDF) has been recognized for its efforts in regional revitalization volunteer work and has won the Special Prize at the 2023 PwC's Sustainable Impact Awards.

The award ceremony, jointly organized by PwC and the Taiwan official representative of the Cannes International Creativity Festival, aimed to encourage companies and schools to combine creative video production to create a positive impact. CDF's video "Aging with Dignity and Love," which showcases the group's volunteers serving in the Da-Guan Tribe of Taichung's He-Ping District, was awarded the Special Prize.

CDF has been committed to promoting local development and sustainability for a long time and has collaborated with its volunteers to achieve this goal. The judges have awarded CDF with special recognition for utilizing corporate volunteer resources to address community pain points, as well as for their long-term efforts in promoting sustainable communities and local employment.

To promote the sustainable development of regional revitalization, CDF launched the "Inclusive Vision" project to support regional revitalization teams, cultivate regional revitalization talents, and assist in local support systems as its three main development axes. In addition, CDF has collaborated with high-quality teams in the northern, central, and southern regions to plan a series of volunteer activities that support disadvantaged education, elderly care, and co-creation of youth and the elderly. A total of 900 colleagues have participated in these activities, bringing economic benefits to the local area while also supporting over 100 vulnerable elderly and 150 children in remote areas.

CDF will continue to leverage the strength of volunteers to achieve the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals and move towards creating a more inclusive society. CDF has teamed up with the Plahan Shared Care Labor Cooperative and Hen and Traveler Company to launch "Healthy Life-Chicken Can Help" in the indigenous communities along the Da'an River in Taichung's Heping District, starting in 2021. The program aims to aid the elderly in gaining economic, social, and health resources by raising chickens and selling eggs. This not only boosts their income but also empowers them to achieve economic independence and reclaim their sense of self-worth.
