China Development Financial Holdings (hereinafter referred to as "CDF") supports social enterprises by purchasing socially and environmentally friendly products and has won the first prize of the Buying Power Award from the Small and Medium Enterprise Administration (SMEA) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) in 2023. This is the fifth time that CDF has been recognized with this award.
To promote responsible purchasing by businesses and encourage the development of social innovation organizations, SMEA of MOEA held the "Buying Power Social Innovation Products and Services Procurement Incentive" to connect businesses with social innovation organizations and encourage them to purchase products or services from these organizations. This initiative aims to create a sustainable impact through collaboration between businesses and social innovation organizations. Today (15), the MOEA held an award ceremony, and CDF won the first prize for two consecutive years. This is the fifth time that CDF has been recognized with the "Buying Power" award.
CDF supports social enterprises through procurement actions by leveraging the strengths of its subsidiaries. Apart from selecting gifts from social enterprises and non-profit organizations during the holiday seasons, the subsidiaries also include social innovation enterprises when choosing hardware and software equipment vendors. Moreover, the "ESG Charity Fair" organized by the China Development Foundation invites social enterprises to set up booths and has achieved record-breaking sales in consecutive years. Inviting colleagues from the group to participate in this event expands the sharing of innovative and high-quality products from social enterprises, and enhancing their social impact.
CDF is committed to promoting social welfare and takes the lead in procuring products or services from social innovation organizations to help them develop market opportunities. For a long time, CDF has been working with social enterprises to promote regional revitalization initiatives, such as collaborating with the social enterprise "Happiness Good Food" to promote friendly land and intergenerational farming practices in the Syuejia area of Tainan. This helps to solve problems such as aging rural populations and abandoned land. CDF also combines group volunteers to support local industry development efforts under "CAN Culture, Art & Nature," promoting conscious consumption and supporting the purchase of social enterprise products. Through these actions, CDF is putting the United Nations' sustainable development goals into practice and contributing to a better society.
