Press Release

2019 marks the 60th anniversary of China Development Financial (CDF). The Company has seen its business portfolio expand continuously over the last six decades, and has remained committed to improving the financial services on offer. In the face of the challenges ahead, CDF stands by its core values of excellence, innovation, care and corporate giving and pledges to provide customers with the most comprehensive quality services. Employees of CDF and its subsidiaries participated in a nationwide mountain climbing event, which helped enhance solidarity among employees, to celebrate the Company’s 60th anniversary. The Company took the opportunity to renew its commitment to the Taiwan market, where it mainly operates, and the resolution in achieving business excellence together with all employees.

CDF started operations as China Development Trust in 1959, which was reincorporated as China Development Industrial Bank, and later renamed CDIB Capital Group for the establishment of the financial holding company. Currently, the Company has four major subsidiaries, namely China Life, KGI Bank, KGI Securities and CDIB Capital Group, with the business scope covering life insurance, banking, securities and private equity. For CDF, the most valuable asset is undeniably the service experiences that it has accumulated over the last sixty years in addition to its employees. With the support of its employees, which was demonstrated in the mountain climbing event, CDF is determined to thrive on what it has built over the last sixty years and take on the challenges in the next sixty years.

CDF employees and their families were invited to participate in the nationwide mountain climbing event, which began in November 2018. Employees were free to choose from sixty routes that the Company recommended, and were advised to act in small groups. Some of the routes were easy even for beginners, while some were more challenging. More than 3,000 employees, including those in Thailand and Hong Kong, signed up for the event and offered to clean up the trash in the mountains as a way to fulfill the Company’s corporate social responsibility. The sixty routes across Taiwan symbolized the sixty years of operations the Company has undertaken in the market, and it intends to carry on the passion to provide seamless, professional services to customers in the future.

Mountain climbing is not the only way the Company is celebrating its 60th anniversary. CDF and its subsidiaries have also launched a marketing campaign, in which China Life, KGI Bank and KGI Securities are giving away a total of 29 Gogoro2 electric motorbikes and over 3,000 smaller prizes in appreciation of customers’ long-term support.
